Five elements in Vastu Shastra

There are five basic elements on which the whole science of Vastu Shastra came into existence. These five elements are Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Space. These five elements are also called
Panchtatva or Pancha Mahaabhoota in hindi.

The significance / importance of these five elements is given below.

Earth – Earth is the third planet in our solar system. It is also said to be a giant magnet whose gravitational field has a significant impact on each and every living and non living organism on its surface.

Water - It is the main component of every living organism, be it a plant or a animal. Most part of the earth, including our body has a considerable amount of water in it.

Air – Air signifies life and is the most important element in well being and comfort of a living being.

Fire
– Fire represents light as well as heat. These two are related to various seasons, the parts of a day viz. morning, noon and night.

Space – Space represents a place under which all the above stated elements exist.
